SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 8 October 2026 – Prudential Singapore ("Prudential") has launched PRUActive Family Care (PAFC), a whole-of-life protection plan designed for Singaporeans caring for multiple generations. The plan enables caregivers to provide protection for both their child and ageing parents under a single policy.

PAFC provides lifetime protection for the caregiver's child, as the life assured, covering death, terminal illness, total and permanent disability (TPD). It also offers critical illness add-ons that cover 182 conditions including juvenile conditions and mental illness.

The plan also includes Parent Guard Benefit that provides protection for the caregiver's ageing parents up to age 100, without the need for medical underwriting. It offers financial and income support when a parent is diagnosed with specified age-related conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, Parkinson's disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Often, older adults may find it challenging to get insurance coverage due to health-related underwriting requirements. By including protection for parents under the caregiver's policy, PAFC helps families address the protection gap.

The launch of PAFC comes as Singapore has become a super-aged society as the proportion of citizens aged 65 and above was at 21.4 per cent in 2026, an increase from 13.7 per cent in 2016. By 2035, more than one in four citizens is expected to be aged 65 and above¹. As such, there will be an increasing number of people taking on caregiving responsibilities.

Supporting the Needs of the Multigenerational Families by Protecting Ageing Parents

Reflecting the diverse needs of caregivers, PRUActive Family Care offers flexibility for individuals with or without children. It allows the caregiver (the policyowner) or their child to be the life assured, with the option to enhance the life assured's coverage by up to five times through the Multiplier Benefit. In addition, the Parent Guard Benefit provides coverage for both parents of the caregiver.

The Parent Guard Benefit offers the following financial and income support³:

Diagnosis Support: 20 per cent sum assured (SA) upon parent's diagnosis of covered conditions (Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, Parkinson's disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy)

DUMAI — Pembangunan jembatan beton tahap VII di Jalan KUD RT 21, Kelurahan Lubuk Gaung, Kecamatan Sungai Sembilan, Kota Dumai, terus berlanjut. Babinsa Kelurahan Lubuk Gaung Koramil 03/Sungai Sembilan, Pelda Tarmin, turut melakukan pendampingan terhadap proses pembangunan tersebut, Kamis (8/10/2026).

Pada kegiatan tersebut, pekerjaan difokuskan pada perakitan besi balok dan pengemalan sebagai bagian dari tahapan pembangunan jembatan yang nantinya menjadi akses penghubung bagi masyarakat di wilayah RT 21.

Jembatan tersebut memiliki panjang bentangan sekitar 8 meter dengan lebar sungai sekitar 5 meter. Kedalaman air sungai berkisar 1 hingga 2 meter, sedangkan ketinggian air saat banjir dapat mencapai sekitar 2 meter.

Keberadaan jembatan ini nantinya diharapkan dapat memperlancar mobilitas masyarakat. Berdasarkan pendataan di lapangan, sebanyak 413 jiwa dari 240 kepala keluarga (KK) menjadi penerima manfaat pembangunan jembatan tersebut.

Dalam proses pengerjaan, kegiatan melibatkan dua personel TNI, tiga pekerja dan dua masyarakat. Kendati kondisi sungai sedang pasang, proses pembangunan tetap berlangsung dengan memperhatikan kondisi dan keselamatan para pekerja.

Komandan Kodim 0320/Dumai Letkol Arm Herman Santoso mengatakan, pendampingan Babinsa dalam pembangunan fasilitas masyarakat merupakan bagian dari upaya TNI untuk terus hadir di tengah masyarakat dan membantu mengawal proses pembangunan di wilayah binaan.

“Babinsa merupakan bagian dari masyarakat sehingga kehadirannya di tengah kegiatan pembangunan diharapkan dapat memberikan dukungan sekaligus memastikan kegiatan berjalan dengan baik dan aman,” kata Letkol Arm Herman Santoso.

Menurutnya, pembangunan infrastruktur seperti jembatan memiliki arti penting bagi masyarakat, terutama ketika fasilitas tersebut menjadi akses penghubung antarwilayah.

“Jembatan ini nantinya diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat bagi ratusan warga. Dengan akses yang semakin baik, mobilitas masyarakat menjadi lebih mudah dan aktivitas sehari-hari dapat berjalan lebih lancar,” ujarnya.

Dandim juga mengapresiasi keterlibatan masyarakat dalam proses pembangunan. Menurutnya, sinergi antara TNI, pekerja dan masyarakat menjadi bagian penting dalam mendukung pembangunan di wilayah.

“Kita mendorong semangat gotong royong dan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap pembangunan lingkungan. Dengan kebersamaan, fasilitas yang dibutuhkan masyarakat dapat dibangun dan dijaga bersama,” tambahnya.

DUMAI - Upaya mencegah kebakaran hutan dan lahan (Karhutla) terus dilakukan Babinsa Koramil 02/Bukit Kapur dengan menyambangi kawasan yang berpotensi terjadi kebakaran. Rabu (7/10/2026), Sertu Jumat Desmanto selaku Babinsa Kelurahan Bagan Besar Timur melaksanakan patroli sekaligus sosialisasi Karhutla di Jalan Bumi Harapan Gang Damai RT 11, Kelurahan Bagan Besar, Kecamatan Bukit Kapur.

Dalam kegiatan tersebut, Babinsa memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat mengenai bahaya membuka lahan dengan cara membakar. Warga juga diingatkan mengenai sanksi hukum yang dapat dikenakan apabila melakukan pembakaran hutan dan lahan.

Sertu Jumat Desmanto mengatakan, pencegahan Karhutla perlu dilakukan sejak awal dengan meningkatkan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap kondisi lingkungan sekitar.

“Pembukaan lahan dengan cara membakar harus dihindari karena dapat memicu kebakaran yang sulit dikendalikan. Selain merusak lingkungan, tindakan tersebut juga memiliki konsekuensi hukum,” kata Sertu Jumat.

Patroli melibatkan Babinsa Koramil 01/Dumai Sertu Nono Supriadi bersama dua personel Security PHR, Budi dan Aidil. Tim melakukan pengecekan jalur pipa sekaligus memberikan sosialisasi terkait keamanan kepada masyarakat di sejumlah wilayah yang dilalui.

Sertu Nono Supriadi mengatakan, patroli dilakukan untuk memastikan kondisi jalur pipa tetap terpantau sekaligus mengantisipasi potensi gangguan di lapangan.

Asia’s No. 1 business school uses AI to sharpen judgement in leaders

For more than a century, case-based learning has put students in the shoes of business leaders by giving information they need to analyse a problem, and then ask them how they would solve it.

Now, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing what it means to solve a case. Since January 2026, NUS Business School has been piloting an AI-enabled approach in which students are given an AI-simulated problem where they must determine what information they need, decide whom to ask, evaluate the answers they receive and make a recommendation under uncertainty.

The simulation is built on ScholAIstic, a generative AI platform developed by the NUS AI Centre for Educational Technologies (AICET) to support roleplaying and simulation-based learning.

Dr Emir Hrnjić, a Senior Lecturer in Finance at NUS Business School, has been working with AICET to adapt and refine these capabilities for management education, developing executive personas around the business case.

To date, the tool has now been used by close to 100 MBA and Executive MBA students across Singapore and Jakarta, many of whom are senior executives.

Sharpening the human instinct behind good decisions

In the pilot, students interview AI-simulated executives, including a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Product and Technology Officer, each offering a different perspective to the same business situation. Students must navigate these perspectives, assess the information they gather and reach their own conclusions.

After each interview, students receive personalised feedback on on their questioning, allowing them to reflect and adapt their approach in subsequent interviews.

Dr Hrnjić said: "Students must decide what they need to know, ask the right questions, challenge what they hear and exercise judgement without having the complete picture. The aim is not to replace that human instinct with AI, but to sharpen in by helping students become more discerning about what to ask and trust. That is much closer to how leaders make decisions in the real world."

Early findings suggest that effective use of AI is not about asking more questions but about asking the right ones. Analysis of interview transcripts showed found that stronger interviews had more targeted questions, follow-ups and adaptation as new information emerged, rather than simply working through a prepared list.

The findings point to a broader role for generative AI in management education. Rather than using AI primarily to search for information or generate answers, the technology can recreate the real-world scenarios, sharpening executives' judgement to better navigate uncertainty and competing perspectives they face in real organisations.

NUS Business School sees potential for similar AI-simulated tools to be applied to other areas of business education where students need to question stakeholders, negotiate competing interests and make decisions under uncertainty. The ambition is to move beyond the largely static information environment of the traditional case towards a dynamic one where students actively acquire information, pursue emerging lines of inquiry, challenge assumptions and exercise judgement as the problem unfolds.

The simulation is one part of NUS Business School's broader approach to integrating AI into education. The school is exploring how AI can enhance, rather than replace, meaningful learning, thereby helping students develop the judgement, critical thinking and adaptability needed to navigate an increasingly AI-enabled workplace.

This becomes increasingly important as AI takes on a greater role in business. Allianz: Companies Experience Sharp Increase in Business Interruption Losses

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 8 October 2026 – Companies are increasingly at risk from surging business interruption losses due to concentrated production, fragile supply chains, geopolitical tensions, inflation, and growing technology dependencies.According to a new analysis from Allianz Commercial, the average total value of a business interruption claim now exceeds €850,000. This is around 70% higher than the corresponding average property damage claim of close to €500,000, demonstrating that the financial consequences of being unable to operate can substantially exceed the cost of repairing the damage that caused the disruption. The report analyzes 7,888 business interruption insurance industry claims with a total value of approximately €6.74bn, or US$7.82bn, from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2025. Although claims frequency has remained relatively stable, the average value of claims increased by over 30% annually during the past two years.

"Business interruption and supply chain risk remains elevated and volatile. The operating environment is challenging with geopolitical tensions, trade fragmentation, cyber-related incidents, and growing dependency on technology such as artificial intelligence (AI). The scale of physical damage alone no longer determines the ultimate cost of a business interruption. Even a relatively contained incident can have consequences across production networks, customers and markets. Businesses therefore need to identify and better understand not only their own critical assets, but also those of the suppliers, technologies and infrastructure on which their operations depend," says Thomas Lillelund, CEO of Allianz Commercial.

Fire is the dominant cause of loss

Fire and explosion is the costliest cause of business interruption claims, accounting for more than 40% of the total value analyzed, equivalent to approximately €2.9bn, or US$3.3bn. Fire was responsible for nine of the 10 costliest man-made business interruption events in the dataset and was the most expensive cause of loss in markets including Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK and the US. One case illustrates how losses can escalate beyond the original incident: a fire at a small manufacturing unit caused relatively limited physical damage but severely disrupted downstream operations, ultimately resulting in a nine-figure group-wide business interruption loss. Natural catastrophes are the second-costliest cause, representing 34% of the value of claims analyzed, and the most frequent, accounting for 26% of claims. Together, fire and explosion and natural catastrophe events generated more than 75% of total claim value.

However, events that do not involve natural catastrophe activity remain the principal overall business interruption loss driver, accounting for 74% of claims and 66% of their total value.

Recovery is taking longer and costing more

Some natural catastrophe claims are developing over increasingly long periods. Two years after Hurricane Helene in September 2024, many associated business interruption claims remained unresolved, not due to coverage issues, but because affected companies had not yet fully recovered. Supply chain delays, labor shortages, and volatile material costs can extend both recovery and settlement.

Concentrated production is also amplifying losses. Industries can depend on a limited number of specialist sites, suppliers or regions for critical materials and components, allowing a fire, cyber incident or extreme weather event at one location to cascade through global supply chains. The two costliest non-natural catastrophe events in the analysis involved fires at semiconductor factories.

Underinsurance also remains a key risk as declared values can be inadequate due to factors such as inflation, highlighting the importance of regular review to ensure it reflects current operating conditions.

"What we increasingly see in Asia is that the size of a business interruption loss is often determined less by the initial event and more by the speed at which an organization can recover. Whether the trigger is a fire, flood, equipment failure or disruption at a key supplier, businesses operating in highly interconnected supply chains can face prolonged operational and financial consequences.

"Businesses should also regularly review their declared values and business interruption exposures to ensure they accurately reflect current revenues, costs and operating conditions. Inflation, supply chain disruption and longer recovery periods have increased the risk that declared values may no longer be adequate when a major loss occurs. The most resilient companies are those that understand their critical dependencies in advance and have practical recovery plans that can be activated immediately," adds Charlotte Field, Regional Head of Short-tail Claims at Allianz Commercial Asia.

Cyber disruption broadens the risk landscape

While ransomware remains the leading cyber-related cause of disruption, a growing share of loss activity is also being driven by cloud outages, software failures and incidents at third-party technology providers. More than 48,000 outages were tracked across cloud and software services in 2025 alone, highlighting businesses' rising dependence on digital supply chains. High-profile incidents, including attacks on software providers and logistics platforms, demonstrated how a single cyber event can disrupt thousands of organizations simultaneously. As companies become more reliant on cloud services, AI and third-party technology providers, cyber-related business interruption is becoming a more significant and complex source of loss.

Southeast Asia's supply of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic is already feeling the shift. Thailand and Indonesia halted plastic scrap imports in January 2025, and Malaysia has tightened its plastic waste import rules and, since April 2026, banned e-waste imports outright. That material is critical to products destined for the EU. Under the EU's vehicle rules, new vehicle models must contain at least 15% recycled plastic from 2032, rising to 25% from 2036, and its packaging rules set recycled-content minimums from 2030. Wider eco-design rules are also expected to reach products such as electronics and textiles in the coming years. Manufacturers will need reliable, compliant supply to keep selling into major markets.

Rothman Consumer Reputation Index 2026: In Central and Eastern Europe, China Is Closing the Consumer Trust Gap with the West

Consumer trust in the four most reputable Asian countries, China, Japan, Singapore and South Korea, has strengthened significantly in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) over the past five years. Western Europe’s reputation in the region has remained stable, but trust in the United States has declined sharply, the Rothman Intelligence Unit’s 2026 Consumer Reputation Index Survey of 12,000 consumers found.

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 8 October 2026 – First compiled in 2021, the Rothman Consumer Reputation Index (CRI) measures how much consumers trust a "country brand", and how far a product's "made in" label sways their purchase decisions. Country of origin is a major factor in consumer choices in Central and Eastern Europe: more important than online reviews, or even the product brand itself.

Research from multiple surveys between 2021 and 2023 identified which Asian countries have a positive reputation among Central and Eastern Europe's roughly 110 million consumers, finding China, Singapore, Japan and South Korea as the most valuable Asian country brands. Since then, the survey has continued tracking how these Asian countries perform compared with their main Western European rivals, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and with the United States, in ten countries of the CEE region: Austria, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Serbia.

In the first survey, "Made in Germany" had the highest value in all ten countries, with the United States and France also scoring above 7. Since then, Japan has overtaken France and the United States, taking second place behind Germany in most of the countries in the region, and this year it became the most trusted country brand in Poland, as Polish consumers now rate it (7.5) above Germany (7.0), the first time an Asian country has topped a national ranking anywhere in the region.

Japan, however, is far from the biggest winner in terms of improvement. While Japan's average score has risen by 0.43 points since 2021, trust in China as a country of origin improved by 0.63 points, Singapore's score rose by 0.66 points, and South Korea's by 0.72 points over the past five years.

The survey also shows a more mixed picture since 2023 on the regional average, as South Korea and Singapore, the two biggest winners over the five years, and Japan made most of their advance by 2023 and have since consolidated well above their 2021 levels, while China is the only one that has continued to climb. China's rise mirrors the decline of the United States, which has lost exactly as much as its biggest global rival has gained – 0.63 points. As a result, the average consumer trust gap between China and the United States has narrowed from 2.0 points in 2021 to 0.74 in 2026.

In Austria, all four Asian economies now outscore the United States, and South Korea also edges ahead of the United States in Bulgaria and Slovenia. Singapore's strongest ground is Central Europe – Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Slovenia, where Singaporean origin scores above 6 and ranks ahead of "Made in China".

The "Asian four" are the biggest gainers overall since 2021, increasing their average reputation score by 0.61 points, while Germany and France have remained stable, adding 0.13 and 0.16 points to their 2021 scores respectively.

The 2026 results confirm that a product's country of origin remains a stronger purchase driver in Central and Eastern Europe than the brand itself: 59% of consumers say where a product is made matters to their choice, against 55% for online reviews and 50% for the brand.

Price is still the dominant factor (86%), followed by recommendations from friends and family (64%).

As Zsofia Balatoni, Chief Strategy Officer at Rothman, highlights, "Three years ago our survey already showed that Asia had momentum in Central and Eastern Europe. The 2026 results show the trend has held. Japan now competes with Germany for first place in Poland, China has never been rated higher, and South Korea and Singapore have closed more than half of their gap with America since 2021. Methodology

The Rothman Consumer Reputation Index survey, completed by the Rothman Intelligence Unit on 1 September 2026, was conducted in twelve countries, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia, with 1,000 respondents in each country (n = 12,000), representative by age, gender, place of residence and education, using computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI; CAPI in Serbia and Montenegro). Transaction streamlines business and sharpens focus on core betting, gaming, and media priorities

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Q2 Metals Corp. (TSX.V: QTWO | OTCQB: QUEXF | FSE: 458) (“Q2” or the “Company”) is pleased to report on analytical results from the 2026 summer drill program (the “2026 Summer Drill Program”) at the Company’s Cisco Lithium Project (the “Project” or the “Cisco Project”), located within the greater Nemaska traditional territory of the southernmost portion of the Eeyou Istchee, James Bay region of Quebec, Canada.

The Cisco Deposit is located just 6.5 kilometres (“km”) from the paved, all-season Billy Diamond Highway, providing strategic year-round direct access to rail infrastructure in the Town of Matagami, just ~150 km to the south.

The results reported herein represent 1,090 metres (“m”) of drilling over three (3) drill holes.

2026 Exploration Program Update

Crews were mobilized to the Cisco Project in May, with the drill campaign commencing in June, targeting infill, extension and exploration drilling across the main deposit area. Drilling is anticipated to continue until mid-December. Five (5) drill rigs are currently operating at the Cisco Project with two (2) drill rigs focusing on infill drilling of the Cisco Deposit and three (3) focused on expansion and exploration drilling to the north, south and east.

The Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate on the Cisco Project, announced on April 20, 2026 and filed June 03, 2026, outlines a pit-constrained resource of 270 million tonnes (“Mt”) grading 1.36% Li2O at a 0.4% Li2O cut-off grade and an additional underground-constrained resource of 24 Mt grading 1.34% Li2O Inferred at a 0.7% Li2O cut-off grade (together, the “Cisco Deposit”). The Cisco Deposit hosts a total Inferred Mineral Resource of 295 Mt grading 1.36% Li2O (the “April-2026 MRE”).

The April-2026 MRE was based on 33,343 m of drilling across 75 holes completed up to December 15, 2025. The April-2026 MRE will inform the Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) currently being prepared by BBA Inc. and anticipated to be published in Fall-2026.

To date, a total of 61,045 m has been drilled at the Cisco Project across 137 holes.

Analytical results on drill holes are announced as they are received and validated. All drilling completed in 2026 and early 2027 will be included in an update to the April-2026 MRE.

Regional Exploration

Alongside the 2026 Summer Drill Program, extensive regional greenfield exploration, including indicator mineral till sampling and geochemical soil sampling, expanded prospecting and mapping and surface channel sampling commenced in May and is ongoing. The objective of the regional program is to collect information that could potentially lead to new discoveries at the Cisco Project. The channel sampling is designed to collect resource-definition-quality surface data to complement the drilling program and enhance geological interpretation of the deposit.

Analytical results from the mineral till and soil sampling and channel sampling will be reported when received and validated.

Drill Results Discussion

Drill hole-95

Drill hole-95 successfully confirmed the main zone of the Cisco Deposit at its western margin with 10 separate spodumene pegmatite intervals up to 70 m at 1.28 % Li2O.

Drill hole-96

Drill hole-96 successfully extended the previous mineralization by 100 m to the north of drill hole-77 (announced June 02, 2026) which encountered 107.8 m of 1.74% Li2O.
Importantly, the 134.5 m interval started at-surface and vertically continued to approximately 100 metres below surface. The lower 101.6 m interval is entirely outside of the conceptual pit-shell defined in the April-2026 MRE.

All intervals of greater than 5 m of core-length and greater than 0.30% Li2O are included in Table 1. Internal dilution of non-pegmatite material was limited to intervals of less than 5 m. No specific grade cap or lower cut-offs were used during grade and width calculations. All intervals are reported as core widths and mineralized intervals in all the holes drilled thus far are not representative of the true width as the modelled pegmatite zones are being refined with every additional hole.

Sampling, Analytical Methods and QA/QC Protocols

All drilling was conducted using diamond drill rig with NQ sized core and all drill core samples are shipped to SGS Canada’s preparation facility in Val D’Or, Quebec, for standard sample preparation (code PRP92) which includes drying at 105°C, crushing to 90% passing 2 mm, riffle split 500 g, and pulverize 85% passing 75 microns. The pulps are then shipped by air to SGS Canada’s laboratory in Burnaby, BC, where the samples are homogenized and subsequently analyzed for multi-element (including Li and Ta) using sodium peroxide fusion with ICP-AES/MS finish (code GE_ICM91A50). The reported Li grade will be multiplied by the standard conversion factor of 2.153 which results in an equivalent Li2O grade. Drill core was saw-cut with half-core sent for geochemical analysis and half-core remaining in the box for reference. The same side of the core was sampled to maintain representativeness.

A Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) protocol following industry best practices was incorporated into the sampling program. Measures include the systematic insertion of quartz blanks and certified reference materials (CRMs) into sample batches at a rate of approximately 5% each. Additionally, analysis of pulp-split and reject-split duplicates was completed to assess analytical precision. The Qualified Person (“QP”) has verified the QA/QC results of the analytical work.
